Follow Up Re Just Call Me Jesus

When I went back to double check something regarding the earlier post about two delusional women who think they're men and the various school officials who are enabling them I found a cascade of stories commenting on the bravery of Kye Allums "the first openly transgender" player in NCAA history. These stories are even crazier than I remembered.

They are almost uniformly gushing paens to this poor woman, lauding "him" for being "openly transgendered". I still don't understand why this woman isn't just batshit crazy. She's a woman who thinks she's a man, which she demonstratively is not. The fact that she and her enablers say she "identifies as a man" instead of "thinks she's a man" doesn't make it any more reasonable.

One athletic director said: "Anytime we can support a student and the way they choose to live there life, it can only be a positive thing."

Really? What if a student chooses to live his life as a child molester or a heroin addict? Is helping them live like that "a positive thing"? How does someone go through life believing such clap trap?

Just Call Me Jesus

Earlier this year a minor controversy erupted when a woman who plays basketball for George Washington University announced that she considered herself to be a man, wished to be addressed as such and planned to compete for a spot on the men’s team next year. University officials acquiesced and changed the team’s media guides and programs to reflect that “she was a he”.

Now a Michigan high school has eliminated the Prom King and Queen in favor of a “gender neutral court” in response to last year’s election of a young woman who considers herself to be a young man. What is most striking about these episodes is not that these poor confused women suffer from such delusions but the willingness of school officials, the media and others to indulge them.

Gender is not a subjective determination. If you have a uterus, vagina, etc. you are female. If you have testicles and a penis you’re male. Setting aside extremely rare circumstances which are not at issue here, all human beings are either male or female and that determination is not voluntary.

There is no question that these young people are women, yet allegedly responsible adults are going along with their patently false claims. Oddly, if they claimed to be Jesus Christ or Napoleon instead of male, they would be subjected to psychiatric testing, and in all likelihood institutionalized. Yet such claims would be more plausible in that they cannot be so easily disproved as their claims to be men.

So far Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Jordan have all told The One to take his middle-east peace push and shove it up his well toned rump. No surprise here, when you start out negotiations by telegraphing your favoritism, why should the side you've so clearly chosen feel the need to give up anything. Obama is obviously in the tank for the Arabs, what with his big speech to the Muslim world that was full of so much bullshit about how brilliant the Arabs are, so what's the point in them giving even an inch. They see Obama with his boot on Israel's neck. Heck, just this week Obama announced he'll be giving the Medal of Freedom to one of the most infamous anti-Semites and Israel bashers out there.

On a related note, the NY Times, the self described paper of record that's really just a leftist propaganda organ, says that Israeli Jews have no experience as victims of hate crimes. I guess the Holocaust and the Intifada don't count because the Jews are all white.

Barack Obama is a truly rare specimen, one of those few who are so in love with themselves, so enthralled by their own intellect that they simply ignore reality and stick to their own, incredibly ignorant beliefs no matter what. Pick a subject, any subject:

On race Obama says:

The Cambridge cop who arrested his buddy acted stupidly, and that we all "know" that cops "stop blacks and Hispanics disproportionately".

The Truth is: Blacks and Hispanics are actually stopped less than they should be, based on the percentage of crimes they commit. Yes, they are stopped "disproportionately" to their representation in the overall population, but blacks commit almost eighty percent of all violent crimes, despite making up just fourteen percent of the population. The reason blacks and Hispanics get stopped by cops more often than whites is that they commit almost all of the violent crimes in this country, and embezzlers and insider traders aren't usually picked up on walking down the street.

This is not an opinion, it is an undeniable fact but Obama still clings to the myth of "racial profiling" because it fits his agenda, and in his mind he can never be wrong.

On international relations Obama says:

We must "engage" (read: appease) bad actors like Putin, Chavez, Ahmadinejad and Kim. He says if we talk to them we can convince them that they really don't want what they think they want. He thinks that we can all just get along, and the only reason there is conflict and war is that all the presidents before him weren't smart enough to figure this out.

The Truth is: there are bad, evil people in the world. The holocaust happened because Hitler wanted it to. Stalin and Mao murdered seventy million people between them because they craved power and they didn't care how much suffering they had to cause to get it. Iran is building nuclear weapons because they want to destroy Israel and control the middle east, not because George Bush ignored them (he didn't). Obama's cowardly strategy of appeasement has been tried over and over again, and it has always failed. Vladimir Putin craps out pieces of guys bigger than Obama, and Kim Jong Il doesn't give a tin shit about our naïve little president.

On health care: Obama says the government can take over the entire health care system, insure everyone in the country and deliver better care, cheaper and more efficiently than the private sector.

The Truth is: the congressional budget office says his plan will cost trillions of dollars; no government program has ever done anything better and more efficiently than the private sector; democrats like Obama don't give a damn about costs or efficiency, that's why the Senate and the House are creating huge unwieldy new bureaucracies that will ration care, and spend loads of money just to consolidate power in government's hands. Socialized medicine has failed in Britain, Canada, Massachusetts, Hawaii and everywhere else it's been tried. We have the best health care system in the world bar none. Of the "forty million uninsured": twelve million are illegal aliens, ten million already qualify for medicare or Medicaid; ten million can afford health insurance but choose to forgo it because they are young and healthy. That leaves about eight million people, less than three percent of the population who are truly "uninsured". If ninety seven percent of Americans are insured, how is this a crisis?

Failing Upward

Exhibit A: Medicaid-the health care plan for the poor run by the federal government loses billions of dollars a year to fraud. It's supposed beneficiaries get lousy care from often crooked doctors, since most of the cost is passed on to the states they are going bankrupt because like every other federal entitlement program it is poorly managed and badly underfunded because the people who came up with are government bureaucrats and lawmakers who have no business sense or economic expertise.

Exhibit B: Medicare-the federally run health care plan for senior citizens. Fraud, see above. Cost over runs, see above. The crushing amounts of paperwork and lousy reimbursement rates have resulted in doctors refusing to accept Medicare patients. The only light in this tunnel is the fact that a decade ago the federal government started privatizing the management of Medicare benefits. People with that type of coverage are much happier with it than those who stick to straight medicare.

Both Medicare and Medicaid are on the road to insolvency. They are running out of money even though we pay huge amounts in taxes to fund them, because the government cannot run programs like this. It's not their money. They are totally unaccountable. They have no incentive to save money or do things efficiently and economically. The people who come up with it are politicians who buy their reelection with tax payer funded pork and the bureaucrats who administer them are civil servants who can never be fired.

Exhibit C: The U.S. Postal Service-an inefficient dinosaur that loses seven billion dollars a year. Email, FedEx, UPS and faxes have rendered the post office more and more obsolete. Like all government programs it is bogged down with poor management, an outdated business model, and a crushing benefit structure. Seven billion dollars a year down the rat hole. While its private sector competitors make billions in profits this p.o.s. cannot even break even.

Exhibit D: The "stimulus"-the biggest spending binge in history shoved down our throats in record time under the guise of "jolting" the economy out of crisis, and avoiding "catastrophe". Barack Obama, who has never run so much as a popsicle stand claimed that he knew how to turn the entire economy around and all he needed was a little more than a trillion dollars (with interest) to ladle out to unions, local and state governments, gay pornography and food kitchens. He claimed it was going to be spent right away on "shovel ready" construction projects. In fact, it's gone to support municipalities that are on the verge of bankruptcy because of their tax and spend addictions and to shore up Obama's closest friends, the unions. The tiny little bit of money that has gone to construction has gone to useless pork projects like "wildlife crossings" and the vast majority won't be spent for another two years. So, this was no stimulus, it was nothing more than a run of the mill liberal spending binge that has cost us and our children over a trillion dollars for absolutely nothing.

Exhibit E: Cash for Clunkers: dreamed up by the Obamanites as a way to stimulate (there's that word again) auto sales and save the environment from the mythical threat of global warming. It was a stupid idea from the beginning. It's killing the used car and parts markets because the clunkers have to be destroyed in the name of the environment. It's costing tax payers billions and it's so poorly planned and managed that it failed in less than a week. Dealers have laid out hundreds of millions that they may not get back because the geniuses in government didn't foresee how popular it would be. The entire budget, which was supposed to last until November, was spent in four days. Even if it succeeded it wouldn't do anything for the environment. Even if you believe in global warming, this would have done nothing because people tend to drive more when they get better gas mileage, so the emissions don't change significantly.

Conclusion: Don't let these assholes take over our health care system. They can't run anything. Not the post office, not Amtrak, not medicare, not "stimulus", not "cash for clunkers", not anything. They have no idea what they're doing. They have never had a real job, or any real pressure to succeed. It doesn't matter how much money they lose or how bad a job they do. They have you, the tax payer to keep milking, and milking and milking until you are bled dry. Don't let these vampire take over your health care.

Greatest American Heroes

The Obamanites released the names of this year's recipients of the Medal of Freedom, our nation's highest civilian honor, and of course they do not fail to astonish.

First up, the soon to be late Senator Edward "Teddy" Kennedy, the fat, drunken murderer who the people of Massachusetts have inexplicably inflicted on the rest of us by electing him to the Senate every six years since 1966. The highlights of the fat lush's career was driving drunk off a bridge and leaving his passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne to drown while he went home to sleep it off. Thanks to his father's money and power, Senator Red Nose paid no price for killing that beautiful young woman. That same money and power are what got Kennedy back into Harvard, after he was kicked out, not once, but twice for cheating. As a Senator, Fat Teddy was well known for drinking in the cloakroom in between votes, making up disgusting lies to oppose judicial candidates, and helping his nephew rape their house guests. Now in the blessed twighlight of the long night mare of his existence, Kennedy is doing everything he can to see that he is the last person over seventy to ever get treated for cancer in this country. He is doing everything his bloated, scotch soaked, tumorized brain will allow to impose a system of medical rationing that will deny life prolonging treatment to anyone without the good sense to be born the son of a criminal, Nazi sympathizer with enough clout to buy them a lifetime senate seat. Alas, ol' Teddy isn't long for this world and upon his passing all I shall say is, "it's about goddamn time."

The other notable (for the impropriety of the honor) recipient of the award is Mary Robinson, former U.N. functionary and President of Ireland. Robinson is best known for overseeing the U.N.'s Durbin I conference on racism, which was nothing more than a Jew bashing fest. The "conference" which the U.S., Israel and Canada all boycotted, was hijacked by Arab Jew haters and their U.N. enablers. Although it was supposed to be focused on eliminating all types of "racism" anti-Semitism was the order of the day, not eliminating it, but practicing it. Israel was the target and the conference produced the infamous U.N. declaration that "Zionism equals Racism". It's no surprise that Robinson oversaw this disgusting jew bashing festival, or that Obama thinks she's ever so dreamy.

As President of Ireland, she was effectively the head of the European Union during the period that Ireland held that body's rotating presidency. During her tenure the E.U. gave tens of millions in aid to the PLO. That's right, that PLO, mass murderer Yasser Arafat's PLO. The same PLO that murdered thousands of people, including the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics and hundreds of Americans. Robinson was bankrolling the terrorists to the tune of nine million dollars a month. That's a shitload of nail bombs.

Of course, we shouldn't be surprised that Obama thinks this terror funding, Jew hating skank deserves the Medal of Freedom. He's asshole buddies with Rashid Khalidi, the former PLO spokesman, who is Robinson's faculty mate at Columbia. According to the Washington Post, the only country whose relationship with the U.S. has worsened since The One took office is Israel. This is because Obama has decided that that the real impediment to peace in the middle east isn't those pesky suicide bombers or (the soon to be) nuclear armed Iran. No, the real problem is the fact that Israel somehow thinks it has the right to build an apartment building in its own capitol city. Of all the nerve!

Obama's boot on Israel's throat follows hard on the heels of his address to (the Arab) "Muslim world", which was filled with lies about a great Arab culture that never existed, and the wonderful advances by Muslims, that really weren't made by Muslims, apologies for America's involvement in a non-violent government overthrow in Iran that nobody even remembers, and moral equivalence between terrorists and their victims. Given Obama's clear sympathies for the same Arab regimes that fund the hate filled mosques and schools where terrorists are made, it's no surprise that he would honor a virulent anti-semite like Robinson, even though she is personally responsible for funneling tens of millions of dollars to actual terrorists. It's no surprise, but it is a disgrace.

Doc Obama’s Brave New World

Today's news carried a story out of Sydney, Australia: It seems an expectant mother was turned away by the cold hearted bureaucrats at her local hospital, forcing her to deliver the little wombat right there on the waiting room floor. Were this to happen here, Ol' Doc Obama would be on t.v. as fast as his teleprompter could be loaded, beseeching us with renewed fervor to accept his plan to take over the health care system.

See, he'd tell us, this is what happens when such matters are left to the mere mortals in the private sector. Goddamn doctors are too busy performing unnecessary tonsillectomies to help a poor pregnant woman. What's that? That doesn't make any sense? There's no "evidence" that doctors are performing unnecessary surgery just to pad their adjusted gross and it's a disgusting slander to say so just to scare people into supporting my plan? Huh? I'm not a doctor, and I don't know a scalpel from shinola? Who let you in here anyway? The time for talk is done.

Now, let me be clear, as I've said before, and as I'll say again, and again we have to get this done, because this has to get done, and if it isn't done now, it'll have to get done later. Huh, what? Oh sorry.

As he was saying: Would that the admission desk had been manned by a highly trained government staffer, formerly from sector 7G of the under department of departmental underparts, that woman would have been whisked off on a silken divan to marble tiled room, smelling of roses and sunshine where she would have been serenaded with the sweet sounds of Mr. Michael Bolton while the child was eased from her womb.

In reality, rationing of medical care by faceless bureaucrats and bloodless eugenicists, is an explicit part of Obama's latest power grab. He and his minions including the soon to be late Ted Kennedy* speak wistfully of a day in the not-too distant future when government factotums will "reward hospitals" for preventing "unnecessary" admissions of senior citizens. When we won't waste perfectly good medicine on people who aren't able to "fully participate in society" like those with Alzheimer's or Down Syndrome.

This plan goes (icy) hand in (iron) glove with Doc Obama's plan to force us all to meet with government "counselors" every few years to discuss "end of life issues". That's right folks, from now on we don't have to worry about making these gut wrenching, personal decisions with our husbands, wives and children in the comfort of our own home, on our own schedule.

No siree, not in Doc Obama's brave new world. Here we don't have to worry our pretty little heads with such grim topics like whether we want radiation or chemo, artificial resuscitation or a feeding tube. Just make sure youre on time for your appointment with Frau, I mean Nurse Uptight who'll help you fill out those pesky forms. Ah, who am I kidding, you don't even have to be in the room, we'll take care of the whole thing: the planning, the treatment, the decision making. You just have to take care of the dying. You can handle one little thing can't you?

Like Doc Obama says, sometimes you just have to say enough is enough, and opt for the pain killer and the hospice over those new fangled antibiotics, or that pricy new hip you've been hankering for.

What's that you say? Your only 66 and you'd still play thirty-six holes a week if it wasn't for that damn arthritis? Well, old timer I'm afraid that in Doc Obama's brave new world we can't have trouble makers like you putting up a fuss. There are only so many new hips to go around and Robert Byrd needs all of them, he's not 94 anymore you know. Have to get with the program you see. Gotta keep costs down, make things more "efficient"? Here, just take this pill and lie back and it will all be over, er okay in a minute. That's right, don't fuss, after all the President I mean, the doctor knows best.

He’s Just Not That Into U[SA]

Obama was asked last week if he believes in "American Exceptionalism". The idea that America has been the driving force behind the great expansion of health, wealth, global trade, peace and stability over at least the last sixty years. He said that he did, but only in the same way "the Brits believe in British exceptionalism, and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionlism". In other words: "No, I don't think America is anything special."

On the same European trip he said that Americans have failed to recognize the "leadership role" that Europe has played in the world. Unsurprisingly, the European press failed to ask him for any examples of leadership by the French, Belgians, etc. If they had, even the magic teleprompters couldn't have helped him with that one. They also didn't ask him to square his statement with the fact that Spain ran and hid like a five year old girl after Al-Quada blew up their train stations, or that the great "leaders" of Europe stood by and watched while tens of thousands of Muslims were slaughtered in Bosnia, which happens to be in Europe, until we stepped in and put a stop to it. None of this is surprising, because Obama truly dislikes America.

Many Americans failed to grasp the importance of then candidate Barack Obama's statement that he planned to "fundamentally transform America". Those of us who knew better understood that the only thing Obama and his radical, leftist ilk like, much less love, about America is the fact that since we are such a free and tolerant nation, they have the opportunity to destroy our great country from within. This is elementary when one examines Obama's life.

His father was a foreigner who came to America to get the best possible education, then abandoned his son, and America to return to Kenya where he worked as an agent of the anti-American Kenyan government to impose the miseries of communism on his countrymen. Obama's mother, also abandoned her family and her country to move to Indonesia, bringing Obama with her, before abandoning him and sending him back to live with his grandparents, with whom he admits he never really connected. Instead, his mentor as a young man was, you guessed it, a radical, militant black communist named Frank Marshall Davis.

By his own admission, Obama was a radical leftist in college who hung around with the Marxist, militant blacks on campus. Those of you who attended college, remember this cabal. They hung out at Ujamaa house, wore black berets and jack boots, and spouted boiled over black panther blather, denouncing white people and the United States of America, in that order. They stomped around campus in their jack boots, and quasi-military formations, and generally made asses out of themselves.

As an adult Obama fell in with the anti-American radicals at ACORN, a criminal organization that advocates anarchy, socialism and anti-white racism. He was close friends with terrorists who set off bombs at NYPD headquarters, and the U.S. Capitol. Last week a group of terrorists were sentenced to decades in prison for plotting to bomb Fort Dix in New Jersey. Thirty years ago, Obama's friends' fellow terrorists in the Weather Underground plotted to do exactly the same thing. Fortunately, they blew themselves up instead. Obama started his political career at the home of Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers, a pair of un-repentant, communist, anti-American terrorists complicit in cop killing, conspiracy, treason, etc. His friend Rashid Khalidi was a spokesman for the PLO. His minister hates America and white people with a passion, claiming that we invented AIDS to kill black people. His "bible" is "Rules for Radicals" an anti-American handbook on subversion and treason. It is a step by step guide on how to overthrow this country and it is the playbook that Obama follows to the T.

Obama himself has said that he thinks America is arrogant. He praises our enemies in Iran, to which he pointedly refers as the "Islamic Republic of Iran". He is the only President in American history to bow down to a king. A Muslim king who rules the country that produced 15 of the 19 Muslim terrorists who blew up the WTC, and finances the spread of Wahabbism, the most virulent, hateful brand of Islam. He has made it clear that he wants to drag us down to the level of the socialist slugocracies in Europe, where the nanny state provides for everything, so everything stinks. He wants to impose socialized medicine despite the fact that it takes over a year to get an mri in Britain, and fat people or smokers don't even get treatment, because they're too unhealthy to bother saving.

What he simply doesn't understand is that America truly is exceptional. Along with our ally, and effective protectorate Japan, we are the source of every major technological advancement of the last hundred years. All the best drugs, medical devices, environmental advances, etc. all come from America and the wealth and ingenuity that our free enterprise system create and foster. Obama simply shoves these inconvenient facts to the side as he grabs unprecedented power for himself and his allies. Witness his threat to destroy Chrysler's bond holders who balked at taking a seventy percent loss on their investment so Obama's flunkies in the United Auto Workers could take control of the company, a tactic that resulted in combined government and union ownership of GM. Read the NPR interview with Obama's "environmental czar" where she admits that the President has said that he is going to decide what kind of cars we can drive, and then laugh as she idiotically tries to explain that in her twisted little brain, this is "free enterprise".

This guy is bad news, and we need to wake up.

Could the President get elected Ms. USA?

During the presidential campaign Barack Obama came out in favor of the traditional definition of marriage: a union between one man and one woman. This is not surprising, as it has been the definition of marriage throughout human history, and marriage is the bedrock institution upon which human society is founded. Despite this assertion, he raised tens of millions of dollars in campaign donations and vociferous support and endorsements from members of the Hollywood/media establishment. He continues to enjoy extensive, vocal support from these same people. Last week, a young woman named Carrie Prejean a/ka/ Ms. California offered the same opinion on the topic, but she has fared less well.

Ms. Prejean was asked by flamboyantly gay gossip monger Perez Hilton, what her opinion was on the issue of marriage. This question was a violation of the contest's rules, and a clear set up since Hilton knew Ms. Prejean is devoutly religious, and he also knew that all major religions adhere to the historical definition of marriage. When, as Mr. Hilton no doubt expected, she responded that while proud to live in a country where people were free to disagree with her, she did not believe it was a good idea to tamper with the building block of civilization by re-defining marriage to include any union other than that between one man and one woman. Of course, she lost the contest, but that was only the beginning.

Mr. Perez called her a "dumb bitch" and only toned it down to that because "c***" wouldn't get past the censors. A director of the Ms. California pageant criticized her because "Religious beliefs have no place in politics in the Miss CA family” [whatever that means], ignoring the fact that it was Mr. Hilton, who introduced the issue into the contest, hoping to elicit exactly the response he got. Mr. Perez's criticism of Ms. Prejean has been echoed by the media/Hollywood voices on t.v., in print and in the blogosphere.

This incident raises several interesting questions: Ms. Prejean shares her opinion on this issue with our President, yet she is being vilified by the same people who pledge their allegiance, not to this country, but to Mr. Obama personally. Therefore, one must ask: Are her critics schizophrenic, or is this just another example of the extent to which the liberal/progressive agenda and its practitioners are utterly detached from reality?

If the latter, then there are two interesting possibilities as to what is at play: (1) either these people are ignorant of the reality that Obama has expressed the exact same opinion for which they have castigated Ms. Prejean, or; (2) they are aware of this fact, but believe that Obama is lying. Given that these people hang on Obama's every word, and have literally pledged to live their lives in service to him, we must presume that they know his opinion on this topic which is of such great import to them.

Therefore, we must conclude that they believe (know?) that he is lying, and was lying during the campaign, when he was attempting to convince many Americans that, contrary to everything he had ever done or said before in his life, he was not a radical anti-American leftist. Therefore, we must conclude that it is perfectly okay with this large and influential sub-set of the American electorate for a man to lie about the most basic fundamental issues in order to fool people into electing him President. Given the vast influence these people have in the media and pop culture, doesn't this bother you?

Just Words

We are in the middle of a clash of civilizations. On one side, Western Judeo-Christian democracies, on the other tyrannical Islamic theocracies. The goal of the former is to enjoy liberty and prosperity. The goal of the latter is the violent destruction of the former, and the enslavement of all infidels en route to the imposition of Islamic theocratic rule over the entire world. To me, it is clear that these two goals are mutually exclusive. We cannot live in peace in prosperity, while simultaneously being enslaved in the name of Allah. Just as the immutable laws of physics hold that two objects with mass cannot occupy the same space, two mutually exclusive goals cannot both be achieved at the same time. To me, this is simply common sense, but not to my President and those who grovel at his feet.

President Obama believes that such are his powers of persuasion and philosophy that he can use the tools of discussion and diplomacy to cause these two mutually exclusive situations (freedom and slavery) to exist at the same time. I have my doubts, as should anyone who takes the time to analyze what he says.

Two days after he was sworn in Pres. Obama signed an executive order preventing our military and intelligence operatives from utilizing any method of interrogation that is not permitted under the uniform code of military justice. Under the code, prisoners of war may not be subject to any treatment that would cause them "discomfort". That's right folks, we are now limited to asking the terrorists for their name, rank and serial number. Compounding the matter, President Obama chose to make a grand show of us tying our own hands and he announced it to the world, thereby notifying every terrorist that they have absolutely nothing to fear when they are captured since any threat of harsh treatment is empty.

Obama plans to bankrupt the coal industry and drive our energy costs “sky high”. This is sick.

Obama is the most egotistical person ever to come on the national stage. He wrote two autobiographies, even though he hasn’t accomplished anything. He believes that he can single handedly “change the world”, “fundamentally transform” America and our economy, and that he can simply cause the world to behave as he wants, from the climate, to technology, to terrorists and everything in between, by sheer force of will.

He will say anything, to anyone, at any time and then say the exact opposite without missing a beat. This goes far beyond simple election bullshit. He is either a pathological liar, who will say absolutely anything to obtain power or he actually believes the impossible and contradictory things he says, which means he is insane.

Just the latest example: Obama has pledged to reduce our “carbon emissions” by 80%. This is simply impossible. It is not hard. It is not unlikely. It is impossible, unless we stop exhaling. In pursuit of this, he has pledged to put 150 million electric cars on the road.

But, he also plans to drive the coal industry out of business. He literally intends to bankrupt the industry that supplies us with 50% of our electricity and drive our energy costs “sky high”. Set aside whether the government should intentionally bankrupt any industry, whether we should be making ourselves more reliant on foreign oil and increasing the price of energy or if you could live your life driving an electric car, and ask yourself this simple question:

How can a sane man propose shifting us to electric cars, and at the same time, pledge to deplete our electricity supply by 50%? The simple answer is he can’t.
For a long time his ego bothered me and his dishonesty bothered me, but now that we appear so close to electing this charlatan, I have become terrified that this guy is actually sick in the head as opposed to just another lying politician.

Lies, Lies and More Lies

Dishonesty has long permeated the media's coverage of politics in America. Despite their supposed "neutrality" members of the main stream media, up to and including the most influential anchors and writers, have all too frequently violated their journalistic ethics to further their own agendas, which are almost uniformly in conformity with the agenda of the Democratic Party and liberal/progressive ideology.

Examples abound: the New York Times disgracefully carrying water for the murderous Stalin regime by publishing Walter Duranty's sycophantic fiction painting the communist butcher as a benign leader while he, and his editors, knew Stalin was literally murdering millions of Russians; Walter Cronkite duplicitously reporting the Tet Offensive as a great communist victory and announcing that the Viet Nam war was lost when, in fact, the American and South Vietnamese forces had dealt the North a crushing defeat and; in more recent memory Dan Rather's seemingly psychotic and quixotic attempt to undermine President George W. Bush's reelection campaign by using obviously forged documents to question his military service. These are not isolated instances.

This type of behavior is all too common in the liberal dominated media. It is also part and parcel of a broader campaign to deceive the public on all manner of issues, social, economic, domestic and international, in order to attain power for those politicians who adhere to a liberal/progressive agenda and will, in the hopes of their media sycophants, undertake to remake our country into something it never was and was never intended to be.

Their true agenda is largely unacceptable to the vast majority of the American people. Therefore, they have only been able to maintain parity with conservative, traditional principles by literally tricking people into believing things that are demonstrably false. They long ago took to heart the maxim that the ends justified the means. As a result, we see blatant lies permeating certain important, influential aspects of everyday American life. Most important among these are, as noted above, the media and the education system. Throughout this election cycle the disinformation campaign waged by the media on behalf of Barack Obama has reached new and uncharted heights but, over the last few weeks, the extent to which his water carriers in the media have been willing to go has been astonishing, even to the most jaded observer.

John McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate has driven fear so deep into the hearts of Obama's media lackeys that they are literally printing lies on the front page, using doctored photographs, edited video tape and butchered quotations to undermine her appeal to voters. This began almost immediately.

Within a day of her addition to the ticket, the Atlantic Monthly, a highly respected news magazine began publishing reports by one of its most acclaimed writers, Andrew Sullivan, that Sarah Palin wasn't really the mother of her four month old son, Trig who has Down syndrome. Sullivan picked up on disgusting smears first printed on hard core left wing web sites that Trig was actually the son of Palin's teenage daughter and that Palin had duped people into believing that she was the mother to protect her daughter's and by extension her own reputation. There was never any evidence to support this, it was nothing but a rumour but Sullivan pursued it relentlessly. He didn't bother to do a sinlge bit of research or what used to be known as actual reporting, demaning instead that Palin address his baseless smears by releasing her medical records. The lies were not limited to the internet.

Just a day after her acceptance speech, wherein she stated her commitment to providing support as vice president to parents with special needs children, the Washington Post printed a blatantly false article claiming that as Goveronor of Alaska, Palin had "cut" millions of dollars in funding for special needs education services in her state. In fact, Governor Palin had tripled the amount of money spent on those programs adding over two million dollars to their budget. It took just a few seconds on google and a scratch pad for readers to point out the Post's lies on this topic but that didn't deter them from doing it again and again in the weeks to come.

Just two days ago, the Post falsely reported that Governor Palin had said in a speech to her son's comrades in arms that the Iraqi government was responsible for the attacks on the world trade center. Not even close. These are just two examples of this reckless, intentional dishonesty to which the main stream media is willing to stoop, in order to put their chosen candidate in the White House. Here is CNN reporting on a debunked, doctored photograph. There is the New York Times report on a phony claim that she miraculously banned books that hadn't been published yet from the Wasilla public library.

The establishment media in this country have attained a position of great power and influence. The American people should be outraged that they have chosen to violate the trust that we have placed in them. Moreover, they themselves should be ashamed at their willingness to violate this trust, and lie in order to attain their desired goal of an Obama presidency. The media long ago abandoned their traditional role of providing information and allowing us to reach our own conclusions. They have now gone further and begun printing and broadcasting dis-information in order to force us to reach their desired conclusions. This is an illegitimate form of discourse and a violation of the trust that has been place in them. They should be ashamed, but they're not. The American people should be outraged, but too few are.

Many people think it is extremely important that America as a nation and Americans, individually make decisions about the way we act based on what citizens of foreign countries think about us. One of the most popular criticisms of the Bush administration is that its policies have caused “world opinion” to turn against America. We are told that America and Americans are seen as egomaniacal, imperialistic, racist, etc. We constantly hear that the United Nations is the moral arbiter of world affairs and that every action must have U.N. approval or it is either illegitimate or illegal.

Barack Obama has said that Americans should make decisions about how much food we eat and what kind of cars we drive based on what people in other countries think. Ruth Bader Ginsberg has said that the constitution of Zimbabwe is a legitimate source of authority to be relied upon in American courts. The number of commentators and office holders who have lamented the supposed decline of America’s reputation on “the Arab street” is too great to calculate here. Yet, a brief analysis of the state of affairs in various societies around the world leaves me rather upbeat about our own. To wit:

Right now in Zimbabwe (see above) President Mugabe’s henchmen are terrorizing the supporters of the man who really won last month’s presidential election. Yesterday, they attacked the wife of an opposition leader. They cut off her feet and one of her hands, locked her in her shack and set it on fire. She was burned alive.

Robert Mugabe is a monster. He is a corrupt dictator who has clung to power for decades. Zimbabwe used to be known as “the bread basket of Africa” because it had a thriving agricultural sector. Some years ago, Mugabe seized all the farms owned by white people and gave them to his henchmen. The white farmers knew how to farm. The henchmen do not. Today hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans are literally being starved to death by their own government.

As an aside, several years ago, Charles Barron the racist, ex-black panther who is a NYC councilman, brought Mugabe to City Hall to “honor” him. Mugabe is a butcher, Barron is a fool and there is absolutely nothing about Zimbabwe that we should be emulating.

Right now in Burma, hundreds of thousands of people are starving and dying from disease because of the typhoon that hit that nation a few weeks ago. Burma is run by a bunch of evil, corrupt generals. The generals make millions of dollars selling the country’s natural resources to China and Japan. The average Burmese lives on less than a dollar a week. When we tried to send food and medicine to Burma, the Generals blocked the aid and seized it for themselves. The vast majority of Burmese people live in mud floored shacks and have no running water. They urinate and defecate in holes in the ground, have no real access to medicine, have no electricity and don’t have any idea of what the internet is. Yet, there are many, many Americans, primarily in university offices and Berkely coffee houses who denigrate America while lauding the "indiginous cultures" of places like Burma. They would also laugh at me for calling it Burma, instead of Myanmar, but that's just tough.

Right now in Iran it is a capital offense to be gay. The government recently executed 12 men for being homosexuals. They were hung from construction cranes in the capital for everyone to see. A few years ago, the city of Qom was totally destroyed by a relatively minor earthquake. The city was destroyed because the buildings were all made of mud. Last year two young cousins, 13 and 18 were gang raped by five men. One of the women defended herself and her cousin from the attack with a knife. She was sentenced to be whipped to 240 lashes. Twenty lashes is enough to kill a strong man. Barack Obama says that we have become an international disgrace because President Bush will not sit down and talk, face to face, with the titular head of that country. This is a man who routinely declares his desire to kill every jew in the world: men, women and children. When he says these things, he is not exaggerating. He really means it. And, somehow I am supposed to be ashamed because he doesn't approve of America?

Right now in Jordan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other Muslim countries young women are being murdered by their own fathers and brothers. Every year hundreds of young women are killed by their own family members for “dishonoring” their families by holding hands with boys, leaving the house alone, letting their face be seen in public and other trivial matters. The girls are usually beaten to death. Sometimes they are drowned, shot, stabbed and even set on fire...by their fathers…for kissing a boy. The governments in these countries do nothing because this is viewed as perfectly normal in Muslim society.

Unfortunately, this is now a part of American culture too. In the last year there have been two confirmed instances of "honor killings" in the United States. In one case, a man shot his two teenaged daughters for text messaging and hanging out with friends.

I think honor killings are an abomination. I think the societies that have given rise to "honor killings" are disgusting, backward and at heart, evil. I don't believe such societies have anything to teach us. Unfortunately, too many people in this country adhere to the philosophy of "cultural relativism" which holds that we cannot judge the action of members of other cultures because what is wrong here, is not necessarily wrong there. I think this intellectual cowardice of the highest order. If you are willing to contort yoursel into a position in which you are defending a culture where fathers can strangle their daughters, you are a coward.

Right now in Tanzania and other African countries, albinos are being hunted for their skin and bones so witch doctors can use them in magic potions. Not albino rhinos or albino tigers but albino people. They are killing albinos to use their skin and bones in magic potions. More than two dozen such killings have occurred in Tanzania since the beginning of the year.
Right now in Sudan and Mauritania it is perfectly legal to buy and sell slaves. That’s right, human, chattel slavery is perfectly legal.

Right now in Egypt, 9 out of 10 baby girls have their clitorises removed so that when they grow up, they won’t enjoy sex so they will be less likely to dishonor their families. This is technically illegal but, most of the procedures are carried out by doctors in the hospitals where the babies are born and the government turns a blind eye.

Right now in Canada, a group of magazine editors and writers are on trial before a human rights commission because they published an article that offended three Muslims who complained about it. There are no rules of evidence, the defendants have to pay for their own lawyers, the government pays for the complainants lawyers and in over thirty years, the commissions have never overturned a single complaint. Last week a similar commission ordered a reverend to issue a public, written apology to all Canadian homosexuals and ordered him to never, ever say anything “disparaging” about homosexuals or homosexuality again, either in public or private in any format.

These are just a few examples of what is going on in other countries.

I understand that horrible things happen to people in this country every day, too. The difference is, the things listed above and many, many more are either carried out by the governments of these countries, or are perfectly acceptable in those societies.

Here, when evil rears its head, people are outraged and the government is not complicit. Yet, our society and our government get singled out, second only to Israel, for scorn by those who laud “the community of nations”. In fact, right now there are two special investigators from the U.N. right here in America.

They aren’t here learning new techniques to do their job or looking for ways to improve other societies. They aren’t even here raising money or support for their programs. They are here investigating our country for racism and mistreatment of immigrants.

Right now in America, a black guy, whose father was an African, Muslim, Communist is thisclose to becoming president, but the U.N. is investigating us for racism. At the same time, white people are being driven from their land in Zimbabwe by the black warlords and black Christians are being slaughtered by the thousands by the Arab Muslims in Sudan. But we are being investigated for racism.

Right now in America illegal aliens are eligible for in-state tuition rates at state colleges, while the Mexican army shoots Guatemalans on sight when they are caught crossing that country’s southern border. When North Koreans are caught trying to escape into China the Chinese either shoot them, or return them to North Korea where they are shot by their own government. But the U.N. is investigating how we treat illegals.

The next time someone talks about how the world looks down on America or how we ought to be doing things "the European way", just smile and nod and remember, America has done more good for the people of this world, than every other nation combined. We are the most generous, benevolent nation that has ever existed, by any measure. Are we perfect? Absolutely not, but we are head and shoulders above any other nation. To paraphrase Churchill: America is the worst country in the world, except for all the others.

In castigating National Review Online for spending too much time discussing Jeremiah Wright, Andrew Sullivan says of him: "you cannot deny his theological depth, his intellectual gifts, his service in the Marines, his contribution to his community. But he is also clearly an ego-maniac, as some preachers often are. And he has succumbed to bitterness, envy, paranoia and racial polarization. One thing cable news cannot convey: human beings can contain a great deal of good and bad at the same time." This is a recurring theme that has been consistently proffered by Wright's defenders, including Obama himself. It is also a load of crap.

Jeremiah Wright and other black liberation/Afro-centric preachers are liars and demagogues who have done far more harm to their congregants than good. For decades, Wright and his ilk have poisoned the minds of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of, black people. They have told them over and over again that their problems are not of their own making but, are attributable instead to their grave misfortune in living in the evil, racist, United States of America.

They have used their pulpits to teach their congregations that this an inherently racist country in which white people are to blame for everything that besets the black community, from poverty, to illegitimacy, to teen pregnancy, to gang violence, to black on black crime, to illiteracy. They have done so by lying to the people who come to church seeking spiritual solace in order to further their own twisted, racist agendas, enhance their own power and inflate their own egos.

Wright is now famous for claiming that the U.S. government created AIDS to kill black people. This is a disgusting lie but, approximately one quarter of all black Americans believe it is true. In fact, the American government, funded by the, mostly white, American tax payers, has done more to treat and cure AIDS than any other nation in the world. We have spent billions of dollars to fight AIDS in Africa, but because it fits his agenda, Wright keeps peddling this viscous lie. This is just one of the many specific lies Wright and his co-religionist "preachers" use to poison the minds of their followers, all of which flow from the general, and false, premise that black people in America today are no better off than they were before the Civil War.

At his speech in front of the National Press club, Wright defended his old friend and fellow traveler, Farrakhan by saying: "he is not my enemy, he did not put me in chains, he did not put me in slavery, he did not make me this color." Setting aside that weird reference at the end, which apparently means God is Wright's enemy, this statement is a perfect encapsulation of the mindset that is so detrimental to the advancement of the black community: the idea that black people today are subject to the same treatment as slaves. In fact, the racial climate in America today is light years better than it was just forty years ago, much less one hundred fifty years ago. Black people who are alive today know nothing of what it was like to live in slavery and white people are not responsible for what slave owners did before our grandparents were born.

It is patently dishonest for Wright and other black leaders to refer to themselves or their congregants as being "put in chains" or enslaved. Wright was raised in middle class Philadelphia, over two hundred years after Pennsylvania abolished slavery. He served in an integrated Marine Corps. He went to college and graduate school. He has never in his entire life been held in bondage, and he has not been legally discriminated against for at least forty four years.

Unfortunately, too many blacks in America buy into the nonsense that they are still subject to pervasive, private and public discrimination and they rely on that as an excuse for their failures and the failures of the black community as a whole when just the opposite is true.

The American government and the, mostly white, citizens of this country who fund it and drive its policies, have bent over backwards for a long time to make up for slavery and discrimination, beginning with the loss of over three hundred thousand Union soldiers in the Civil War. The American people have spent trillions of dollars on income redistribution plans like welfare and food stamps that are disproportionately directed to black people.

For forty years, white people have been subjected to pervasive, public and private discrimination in academic admissions, private industry, civil service employment and government contracting under the pernicious guise of affirmative action. Despite all of this, blacks in America lag behind in every measure of success, and are responsible for the vast majority of violent crime, in large part because racial grievance mongers like Wright have been lying to them to further their own agenda.

Instead of urging black people to pursue success by virtue of hard work, academic study and family cohesion, Wright, Sharpton, Farrakhan and the rest of the racial grievance mongers urge them to wallow in self-pity and victimization. Instead of exhorting blacks to refrain from criminality, they call out "white" society for building more prisons. Instead of criticizing the thug/drug culture that is so destructive of black youth, they demonize the police. Instead of demanding academic rigor among black educators and students alike, Wright and his cronies peddle crack pot theories about left and right brained learning and advocate the inclusion of "ebonics" in mainstream curricula. Think about that for a second: instead of urging black children to learn to speak proper English, there are influential and respected people within the black community who want the schools to teach jive. That is crazy.

Jeremiah Wright's congregation and those of every other black liberation/Afro-centric preacher would be much better off, even without his prison ministry and community outreach programs, if they stopped blaming the bogey man of racism for all their problems.

Bending over Backwards for Barack

This morning on Fox and Friends, Senator McCain repeated that he does not intend to make an issue in the general election of Senator Obama's relationship with Jeremiah Wright because he does not believe that Obama shares Wright's opinions. This is extremely poor strategy and incredibly obtuse.

It appears that McCain thinks he will somehow gain favor with some portion of the electorate by refraining from engaging in hardball, political tactics and, in fact supporting his opponent when no such support is the least bit justified. This at a time when the Democratic National Committee is running an anti-McCain ad that is perhaps the most patently dishonest political advertisement ever created.

In fact, Obama himself was, until recently, telling the exact same lie on the stump. This is just one example of the hard ball tactics that the radical left a.k.a. the Democratic Party have made their stock in trade. Yet, McCain inexplicably refuses to use tough tactics of his own.

The whole world now knows that Obama has spent the last twenty years closely associating with, and relying on guidance and advice from, an anti-American racist whose philosophy is largely comprised of the worst kind of blame whitey/America, racial grievance mongering. This is, as Obama said on Fox News last week, "a legitimate political issue" but McCain still insists on going out of his way to minimize the relationship between Obama and Wright, in direct contradiction to all of the available evidence. He's not just abstaining from raising it as an issue but, affirmatively granting Obama the benefit of the doubt. Why?

Obama has been a devoted member of Wright's church for twenty years. Wright is his spiritual mentor and an important factor in his political success. The Obama's were married by Wright, he baptized their children and blessed their new house. Obama exposed his little girls to Wright's racist, anti-American preaching on a regular basis. One of Wright's sermons served as the inspiration for Obama's first memoir. Obama has relied on his membership in Wright's church and his relationship with Wright himself to facilitate his rise in south side Chicago politics. These are not passing interactions and, despite Obama's latest claims, Wright is not someone from his "past".

Over the last two years, the Obamas donated almost fifty thousand dollars to Wright's church. Until the very last minute Wright was supposed to give an invocation when Obama announced his presidential candidacy. In his recent attempts to down play his relationship with Wright, by emphasizing his retirement from the pulpit, Obama spoke highly of the new pastor at his church. This new pastor has praised Wright, testified to the truth of his racist, anti-American ravings and, referred to them being publicized as a "lynching".

Obama has said on many occasions that Wright and his church are central to his development from the young "community organizer" he was when he joined the congregation. As recently as last month, in his big speech on race, Obama embraced Wright, while disingenuously minimizing his philosophy, and told the world that they are so close that, despite Wright's "controversial" statements, he could no more disown Wright than he could disown the black community or his own grandmother.

Trinity United Church of Christ is a black liberation/Afro-centric church run, until recently, by a racist, anti-American madman. Therefore, unless Obama's self professed devotion to the church, and Wright, is less than sincere, he is, by definition, a black liberationist/Afro-centrist. If, on the other hand, he has attended, worshipped at and financially supported an institution with whose fundamental tenets he disagrees and, has had as a spiritual mentor, a man whose theology he rejects, the burden is on him to prove it. There is a real chance that this man could be the next President of the United States. Neither McCain, nor anyone else who fears this eventuality, should be giving him the benefit of the doubt on this, or any other issue.

Barack Obama is doing his best to distance himself from the radical afrocentric, black separatist church that has been his spiritual home for two decades. He is doing so because he knows that the vast majority of Americans would be repulsed to learn what passes for religious celebration and worship at this Church. This issue is so radioactive, so potentially damaging that he has abandoned all pretense of telling the truth, instead reeling from one implausible excuse to another.

He has been an active, attentive member of the church run by Rev. Jeremiah Wright for over twenty years. Obama has exposed his daughters to his hate filled, racist, anti-American rants from the day they were baptized. There is absolutely no way in the world that Obama was unaware of the philosophy that underpins the statements that Wright has made, both in the last twenty years from the pulpit and in the last few days in the spotlight. Not only was he aware of it, he did his best to paint everyone who had a problem with it as racist. He even went so far as to slander his grandmother as a racist in his flailing attempt to defend his relationship with a true racist who he has, in the past, lauded as his "spiritual mentor".

In the last few days we have seen this spiritual mentor get a standing ovation at an NAACP dinner for espousing the genetic differences between the way white and black people's brains function. We have heard him drone on and on in that pseudo-intellectual style, made famous by Damon Wayans on In Living Color, that is so popular with black ministers, to an obsequious Bill Moyers about, inter alia, his "hermeneutic". We have heard him regurgitate his racist, anti-American rants and his paranoid conspiracy theories. And, now we have seen Obama reach his breaking point and denounce Wright, a feat Obama himself claimed was metaphysically impossible just a few weeks ago, in the speech he gave re-hashing the same discussion of race relations that has been going on for decades in this country.

Obama received wide acclaim from certain quarters for that speech which was supposedly so ground breaking and innovative in both style and substance. Hogwash. The speech was nothing more than the same old laundry list of grievances and accusations of white racism as well as a healthy dose of lecturing on how white people need to pony up even more money to make up for past discrimination. In reality, it was nothing but a distraction, designed to draw attention away from Obama's long, active membership in the black liberation, Afro-centric church that Wright runs.

Black liberation theology is a racist, hateful, anti-American philosophy attributable to James Cone, another pseudo-intellectual black minister who has made a career out of poisoning black minds into believing that all the negative pathologies that beset black Americans are the fault of white people. According to Cone, Wright and their ilk, black people would all be kings, living in paradise on earth in Africa if not for the horrible slave masters i.e. you and me. Their "theology" is closely tied to the nonsense pushed as scholarship by African studies professors like Leonard Jeffries and the other frauds who claim that the ancient Egyptians were black and that all wisdom, knowledge and truth flowed like water from the well that was pre-colonial Africa. Again: hogwash.

As any brief and disinterested investigator can easily confirm, the entire corpus of African studies, like most ethnic studies programs, is nonsense. These "academic programs" are nothing but grievance incubators where outright lies are peddled as historical truths. The same is true of black liberation/afro-centric churches.

According to Wright, and the many, many black religious, cultural and political leaders who have leapt to his defense in the past few weeks: the U.S. Government created AIDS to kill black people, we deserved to be attacked by the terrorists because we are terrorists too, Farrakhan, who Obama insists on referring to as "Minister Farrakhan", is one of the most important voices of the last hundred years and on and on. This is the same paranoid lunacy spouted by people like Maxine Waters, the California Congresswoman who claimed that the C.I.A. was dealing crack to keep the black man down and Cynthia McKinney who claims that President Bush knew about the 9/11 attacks in advance but did nothing so his father could make money.

The fact that so many black "leaders" have come out to defend these insane and hateful claims and to attest to the fact that Wright is simply voicing in public, what is preached in many, if not most black churches is both scary and disgusting. This raving madman has held a very powerful post for many years. Who knows how many people's minds he has poisoned with this garbage? Worse, Obama helped him do it.

Obama has personally donated almost fifty thousand dollars to Wright's church in the last few years. Worse, as a legislator, he has funneled millions of dollars in tax grants to that church and a similarly despicable one run by another racist, Father Michael Pfleger. Pfleger is really something to behold. He is white, but has adopted the speech patterns of a southern black preacher and routinely foregoes traditonal ecumenical vestments for dashikis when preaching to his largely black congregation.

Pleger, Wright and others of their ilk have done more to harm race relations and the black community than perhaps any other institutional force in America over the last forty years. They make their livings, in Wright's case a very nice living, sowing seeds of hatred and discontent in the minds of urban blacks.

Obama is right to distance himself from these men and their foul churches, but in doing so he is being dishonest. When it served his political purposes, as a liberal, black politician running for office in Chicago, attending such a church was actually a necessity. It is only now, when he seeks broader approval, that he has chosen to abandon his church, falsely claiming that after attending for twenty years, he just recently learned what it was they were preaching there. This shows a great deal about him on many levels: first, we know he heard those racist, anti-American sermons and kept attending and supporting the church; second, we know he is lying about it now; third, we know that his character is such that he is willing to throw away his faith in order to achieve political success and; fourth, that by virtue of these revelations and many others, that he is not fit for the office he seeks.

Obama's plan to sit down with every anti-American despot was never a good idea. His statements today in defense of it exposed his naivete on the subject. He was defending his ill conceived plan to meet with the theocratic thugs who run Iran, while trying to maintain a sliver of distance between his position and Carter's disgraceful trip to kiss Hamas' slippers.

Obama explained that when he meets with the Iranian thugs he would "demand" that they give up their nuclear weapons, stop threatening their neighbors, including Israel, and stop funding terrorist organizations. Obama admitted the obvious and then went on to reveal the depths of his ignorance on the issue:

"They may not agree to any one or all of those demands. But, by having made them directly, it becomes much more difficult, for them, I think, to posture on the international stage and it then postions us to be able to obtain the kinds of assistance from potential allies that we need".

This theory is breath taking in its stupidity. It is exactly the opposite of what would happen.

Picture this: President Obama meets with President Ahmadinejad. Images are broadcast all over the world showing the two smiling, national leaders shaking hands, patting each other on the back, sitting next to each other as equals, sipping tea in plush chairs in one of the ceremonial rooms in the White House. Obama will issue his "demands" and Ahmadinijad will smile that smarmy, disgusting smile that he thinks is so charming and disarming. He will ramble on, alternating between empty platitudes, insane rambling and outright lies but, ultimately he will tell Obama to take his demands and shove them.

The results of this scenario are one hundred eighty degrees divergent from what Obama thinks will happen.

Contary to Obama's claims, Iran's ability to "posture on the international stage" would be increased exponentially. First, they get pictures and video footage of their madman president being treated like the legitimate head of a respectable nation, feted by the most powerful man in the world. Second, they will claim to the muslim world that the leader of the Great Satan begged them to accept his terms because he is afraid of them and their mighty nuclear capability. Iran will portray Obama's demands as begging born of fear and they will trumpet to the muslim world that they looked us in the eye and told us to sod off.

Instead of giving us leverage with the allies that we supposedly need but don't have, this would make it much more difficult to get any nation, especially a muslim nation to join our side. The muslim "street" would be energized in its support for Iran and revitalized in its disdain for us.

Obama's failure to reach these basic conclusions and to instead proffer this fantasy version is truly scary but, not at all surprising.

Child Rapist Freed by Judge Rapes Another Child

So, let's see what we learn from this story:

1. In Massachussetts, someone who is convicted of raping a child can serve as little as four years in prison. Therefore, we know the legislators in Massachussetts who drafted the laws that allow this situation to exist are both mentally and morally defective;
2. Child rapists will, upon release, rape more children. (Actually, everyone with slightly more common sense than my dog already knew this so, this story just reinforces it);
3. The judge who denied the civil confinement application is both mentally and morally defective like his buddies in the legislature. He put his own enlightened attitude towards the benighted child rapist above the good of the citizens of Massachussetts. His ignorance is patent not just from the result but from the three factors he cited in denying the application: the rapist's history of being sexually abused as a child, the fact that he didn't rape any children in prison and, the rapist's low i.q.

Whether he was sexually abused as a child is, at best, totally irrelevant and, more likely, militates in favor of his continued confinement. Civil confinement of sexual predators is not punitive. It is intended to protect potential victims, like that poor little boy in the library. So, whether this child rapist was previously victimized by some other child rapist (thus engendering sympathy, etc.) has no bearing on the issue of civil confinement. In fact, if, as I recall reading on more than one occasion, victims of childhood sexual abuse are more likely to become abusers, this is all the more reason to confine him. This is clear since, he answered the question as to whether he would become a child rapist when he raped a child.

Next, judge einstein cited the fact that he didn't commit any sexual offenses in prison. Again, so what? This lowlife was convicted of raping a child. I think it's safe to say that there were no children available in prison for him to rape. This analysis is akin to granting favor to an armed robber because he didn't knock over any liquor stores while he was in the can.

Finally, the esteemed jurist cites the child rapist's low i.q. At the risk of being redundant, so what? It doesn't matter if his i.q. is in the single digits. Children who are raped by stupid people are no less traumatized than those raped by mensa members. Also, did I mention that civil confinement is not punitive? so who cares what his i.q. is? It is the welfare of the community that is at issue in determininng whether child rapists be confined or released.

This is a shining example of what happens when the enlightened abandon common sense.
